AZ Governor’s Office of Youth, Faith, and Family
Arizona’s Council on Child Safety and Family Empowerment is one of the nine community systems serving the Governor’s Council on Youth, Faith, and Family. This council was created to align, leverage, and coordinate faith-based and community resources to solve challenges faced by our most vulnerable children and families within the child welfare system. It also strives to provide additional support to strengthen families that are caring for both foster and adopted children. Carol Barger, the Adoptive Families Coalition (AFC) Community Resource Director, was happy to accept the invitation to share with the council the resources offered through AFC to adoptive parents. The 25+ Commissioners were attentive and appreciative to learn of empowerment to parents provided by the AFC financial sponsorship program. Good connections were made for collaboration between AFC and other organizations to increase effective services and physical resources for Arizona families.
