Our adopted daughter Brooke was exposed to drugs in utero and has struggled for years with the impact of this trauma. She was diagnosed with ADHD early on, a diagnosis which eventually expanded to include extreme anxiety and depression, dysphoria, and suicidal ideation. She is also highly at risk for many inappropriate behaviors. Brooke has increasingly become less socially engaged and more isolated. As one of her doctors recently noted she has so much noise going on in her head she is unavailable to learn. We as a family have supported her through her struggles trying desperately to find the things that will help her. She is in constant distress and we, as a family, live the impact of this. We don’t feel like Brooke is getting the support she needs from the local resources available to her now nor do we feel we can keep her safe. We have just made the difficult decision to send her to wilderness therapy as we fully believe this will provide her with the tools to thrive. Insurance does not cover this very costly treatment so with the help of Adoptive Families Coalition, a non-profit organization, we hope to raise some of the funds we need. 100% of your tax-deductible donation will go directly to help pay for her treatment. In addition, Adoptive Families Coalition will be matching the first $2,000.00 in donations. Thank you for your support. NOTE: WHEN MAKING A DONATION IT WILL NOT BE IMMEDIATELY REFLECTED ON THE “FUNDS RAISED”. Thanks again!!
