Hello, my name is Andi. I am writing on behalf of my daughter Ev. My late ex-husband and I adopted Evelyn as an infant. She had been born at 24 weeks and weighed in at a whopping 1lb 6oz. Evelyn fought for her life then, and I am continuing to fight on her behalf now. Evelyn is such an amazing and warm soul. We have honestly had strangers approach us to share that they can sense such a bright warmth around her. She is creative, silly, a passionate animal lover, and all around amazing young lady. She has overcame so many obstacles in her young life! Her resilience and perseverance have never ceased to amaze me.
Currently, I am in the process of placing her in a residential program to help her with her educational and mental health needs. Evelyn is 14 years old and has multiple special needs. I have worked diligently the last several years to provide her with the appropriate therapies and interventions to support her needs. Evelyn has worked equally as hard to learn and absorb the lessons and techniques presented to her. She has some behaviors which are hard to manage in the home. I understand that these behaviors are a manifestation of her illness and not a reflection of my daughter’s personality, or warm and loving heart.
Adoptive Families Coalition (AFC) is writing to you on behalf of Evelyn’s family. We are assisting them in funding their daughter’s treatment not covered by insurance. There are very few resources for adoptive families who face the challenges of expensive and lengthy care. We need a community of support! Please consider if you can make a one time or monthly donation to offer Evelyn a bright future.
100% of your tax-deductible donation goes directly to the treatment provider. Thank you!
AFC is a non-profit organization dedicated to the holistic support of adoptive families. Families who faced similar challenges firsthand and understand the need for support founded the nonprofit.
